Process
Writing a Swap-a-Lease advert that generates response is simple.
So long as you enter all the fields on the form accurately.
Listing all optional extras your car has is a key part of attracting
a serious buyer.
Mention colour, mileage, service history and number of owners.
Above all be accurate. If it has full service history, MOT and road
tax make sure it’s noted and have any damage or missing items
repaired or replaced under your insurance policy.
Most buyers will require an independent RAC check before accepting
the keys! It may be best to have one prepared before hand ask us
for details.
Attach a photo, it'll make your advert stand out and you'll get
a better response. Ask us we can help you add a photo.
Finally, be honest; lying about the condition of your car will
only waste everyone’s time and your money.

Unlike selling a car you own, the time to sell is less important.
People who are generally looking for a lease car deal are much less
concerned about the registration plate they just want a good deal.
Christmas is a notoriously bad time to sell anything, people are
busy buying presents, and you will struggle to get your asking price.
People prefer to buy convertibles in spring and 4x4s in Autumn.
So advertise your soft top when the sun is out and your 4x4 when
is cold and wet.
If you have the right car on the right contract it could sell at
anytime!
As soon as you submit and pay for your advert it becomes live on
the swap-a-lease site. You can then log in and amend any details
while the advert is live.

How do I add a photo?
Uploading your photograph to your advert is simple, providing you
have a scanned in picture of your vehicle to use. Click on the red
'ADD PHOTO' button on the Edit screen when placing an online advert
and follow the instructions.
Any photos supplied with adverts must be a true representation
of the advertised vehicle. We cannot accept adverts supplied with
stock or library photos. Swap-a-Lease reserves the right to remove
such photos from adverts placed for publication on the website or
in our magazine(s) as appropriate.
An HPI check is not necessary with lease transfers.
The leasing company will not transfer a vehicle lease for a vehicle,
which has been subject to a write off. The vehicle is certainly
subject to a finance agreement and remains the asset of the leasing
company at all times. The mileage on leased vehicles is more likely
to be correct especially as many leased cars include a maintenance
agreement.
Although you are not selling a car just the lease to use it, the
buyer still expects a clean and presentable vehicle.
You wouldn't lease a new car in poor condition so neither will
a Swap-a-Lease buyer. The first thing they will notice is the car's
appearance. Time spent on cleaning your car will help you to complete
the sale. [It’s a bit like selling a house!]
Clean inside and out; give it a good vacuum and wax, and don't
forget to clear out the boot. Use an air freshener to eradicate
stale odours.
Make sure the vehicle has been serviced. Do a general maintenance
check. Replace oil and other fluids, and check the tyre pressure.
Remember to keep all paperwork to prove that the work has been carried
out.
In a folder, collate all receipts, maintenance records and service
history, and leasing company handbook/driver card.
We will handle and coordinate all responses to your advert and
inform you each time interest is received,
We will progress all enquiries and inform you of seriously interested
qualifying parties.
We will arrange a viewing as soon as the buyer has cleared credit
and all their questions have been addressed.
This provides security and cuts out time wasters
This is the make or break time and it is essential that the car
is in good condition
It is highly recommended that all viewings are completed in daylight
and for safety reasons a colleague or friend accompanies the seller.
