Swap-a-Lease is a sole trader business providing a B2B online marketing platform for business lease transfers in the United Kingdom. We connect UK-registered businesses that wish to exit a Business Contract Hire (BCH) or business lease agreement ("Listing Business") with UK-registered businesses that wish to assume that agreement ("Incoming Business"). This platform is for business use only.
Swap-a-Lease is a marketing platform only. We are not a party to any lease transfer transaction and we do not provide financial, legal, or regulated advice of any kind. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. This platform operates on a B2B basis only, facilitating transfers between registered businesses. B2B transactions are exempt from the consumer credit provisions of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Regulated Activities Order, Article 60C) (FCA). This is a B2B platform — the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and FCA consumer credit regulations do not apply to transactions arranged through this platform.
By accessing this website or creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that you accept these Terms & Conditions in full. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use this platform.
We reserve the right to amend these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after notification of changes constitutes acceptance.
By listing a lease on Swap-a-Lease, you confirm that:
• You are the current leaseholder or have authority to act on behalf of the leaseholder • All information provided in your listing is accurate and not misleading • You have checked whether your finance agreement permits lease transfers • The vehicle is not subject to any undisclosed finance, legal dispute, or encumbrance • You will respond to buyer enquiries promptly and in good faith • You will not list the same vehicle on multiple platforms in a way that could cause confusion or multiple committed buyers
Sellers are responsible for ensuring any transfer complies with the terms of their lease agreement and all applicable laws.
By enquiring about a listing on Swap-a-Lease, you confirm that:
• You are making a genuine enquiry and intend to take over the lease if terms are agreed • You understand that taking over a lease requires approval from the finance company and that you will be subject to a credit check • You will not share seller contact details obtained through the platform for any purpose other than completing the lease transfer • You accept that any lease you take over inherits the existing terms, mileage position, and condition of the vehicle
Listing fee: Sellers pay a non-refundable fee of £39.99 (inclusive of VAT where applicable) to publish a listing for a 30-day period. Listings may be renewed at the prevailing rate.
Success fee: Upon successful completion of a lease transfer introduced through the platform, the seller is liable to pay a success fee as follows:
• 2 months' rental — where 12 or more months remain on the lease at the time of transfer • 1 month's rental — where fewer than 12 months remain on the lease at the time of transfer
The fee is calculated on the monthly rental amount stated in the listing at the time of transfer. Swap-a-Lease will invoice for this fee on notification or discovery of a completed transfer. Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date.
What constitutes a "successful transfer": A transfer is deemed successful when (a) a buyer who first made contact with the seller via the Swap-a-Lease platform enters into a formal lease transfer agreement with the seller; (b) the finance company confirms in writing that the lease has been transferred to the new lessee; and (c) the new lessee assumes legal responsibility for all remaining monthly payments. The success fee applies regardless of whether the transfer completes during or after the active listing period, provided initial contact between the parties was made through Swap-a-Lease.
Buyer registration is free of charge.
Users must not:
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings • Attempt to circumvent platform fees by conducting transactions off-platform with contacts made through Swap-a-Lease • Use the platform to harass, abuse, or threaten other users • Use automated tools to scrape or copy listings without permission • Post vehicles subject to outstanding finance, legal disputes, or recall orders without disclosure
We reserve the right to remove any listing and suspend or terminate any account that breaches these rules, without refund of listing fees.

Swap-a-Lease accepts no liability for any financial loss arising from reliance on information published on this platform.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Swap-a-Lease's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the platform shall not exceed the fees paid by you to Swap-a-Lease in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for: the accuracy of listings posted by users; the outcome of any lease transfer negotiation; any losses arising from a failed or contested lease transfer; or any indirect, consequential, or special loss.
All content on this website — including design, text, graphics, and software — is owned by or licensed to Swap-a-Lease. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content without our prior written consent.
By submitting a listing, you grant Swap-a-Lease a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your listing content (including photographs) on the platform and in associated marketing materials for the duration of the listing.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
