Why did we build this site?
We got stuck in a surplus vehicle lease contract. The early termination fees expected by the leasing company were really high and we didn't have the cash to pay the penalty charge. As it turned out, luckily the leasing company who owned the car, actively supported lease transfer although they weren't advertising the fact!
When we asked what their process was they said we just needed to find a qualifying third party to take over the remaining lease commitment. In effect, a person or company that was equally credit-worthy. The 'lease transfer' process; also known as novation was quick and easy.
Completing the process saved us £1,000's and relieved a lot of stress. We knew other people and business owners would also be in the same position.
What do we do?
Swap-a-Lease is designed to enable individuals and businesses to avoid the significant costs associated with the early termination of contract hire or other lease contracts, matching them with buyers searching for lower cost, deposit paid, short-term and cheap leasing deals.
The adverts are placed by Leasing, finance companies and brokers, company car owners and fleet managers, franchise dealers who need to shift cancelled orders, Financially distressed individuals. Occasionally, we have access to some un-advertised new vehicle offers comprising Pre-registered, surplus, over-age, end of line, run out model stock offers.
We also source difficult to find and long lead time prestige, sports, super-prestige and performance cars for some of our HNW members.
How does it work?
Lease sellers advertise their leases and potential [must be creditworthy] buyers register their interest. We charge sellers a small advertising fee £39.99 to list the lease and when a transfer is completed with the company that owns the vehicle and buyers and sellers are both happy, we charge a success fee equal to 2 months rentals. If there isn't a suitable match at any time we reccomend members set up a 'Notify Me' and we'll do our best to find a match in our network.
Who benefits?
