Ending or transferring an Ayvens (ALD and LeasePlan) business lease

Ayvens brought ALD Automotive and LeasePlan together. What its contract hire terms say about ending early, and how to ask about a transfer.

Ayvens is the business formed when ALD Automotive and LeasePlan combined, making it one of the largest vehicle leasing companies in the UK. If your agreement is with ALD, LeasePlan or Ayvens, this guide is for you.

Ending an Ayvens lease early

LeasePlan's contract hire guide sets the early termination charge at 50% of the rentals still to pay. To get an exact figure, ask your broker or Ayvens for a termination quote.

Agreements written before the merger may have different terms, especially older ALD agreements. Read the termination clause in your own agreement before relying on the 50% figure.

Excess mileage and damage are charged separately when the vehicle is returned.

Can an Ayvens lease be transferred?

Ayvens can transfer (novate) an agreement to another business, but it decides each case individually and doesn't publish a standard fee. Before you list the lease, ask Ayvens:

  • Will it consider a transfer of this agreement to another UK business?
  • What fee would it charge?
  • What will it need from the incoming business for its credit checks?

Why a transfer can be worth asking about

With a 50% termination charge, a business with 20 months left on a £500 a month lease would pay around £5,000 to end it. If Ayvens agrees to a transfer, the incoming business takes on the rentals instead, and you pay the transfer fee plus our fees. Our lease transfer vs Early Termination Charge guide walks through the comparison.

Next step

Check what we know about Ayvens and other funders in our Funder Fees table. If Ayvens confirms a transfer is possible, list your lease and we'll connect you with businesses looking to take one over.

Based on the LeasePlan (Ayvens) contract hire guide. Ayvens hasn't published its novation terms, so confirm the details with Ayvens and your own agreement.
